Copahue is a stratovolcano along the Chile-Argentina border.

Eruptions

22 December 2012

OVDAS-SERNAGEOMIN reported increased seismicity at Copahue on 22 December. The plumes rose 1-1.5 km above the crater and were observed in satellite imagery drifting 400 km SE.

The first IASI orbit that detects SO2 is on 22 December 2013 at 13 UTC. The SO2 mass load have a maximum values of 0.7 Tg in the IASI maps during the 23 December 11 UTC orbit.
