Mt. Etna is a stratovolcano located on eastern Sicily, near Catania, Italy. It erupts a basaltic lava and produces long lava flows and cinder cones, and also sometimes displays Strombolian activity. Volcanism at Mt. Etna is currently mostly focussed in the region of the South Eastern Crater.
